The beautiful but small tortoiseshell butterfly feeding on the nectar of this thistle. This insect is widely found in #gardens and parks of Great Britain and Ireland. Shot in Styal National Trust Park. This insect is lucky to not be an endangered species when so many of its kind are struggling.
January 2021
A farmers building sits on the hill near the national trust park in Styal, Cheshire. Walking around the countryside of the North West of England brings many sights like this. Often farmers store animal feed or machinery in these buildings protecting them from the weather.
February 2021
Stable stamen, the stamen from a pink lily attracts insects and give a strong sweet smell which fills a room. Often found in a bouquet of flowers due to its vibrant colours of its petals. This image was shot in the Darren Smith Photography Studio during the lockdown of 2020
